Speaking to Howard Stern in New York ahead of the premiere of her 13th season, Ellen DeGeneres has expressed her confusion over Caitlyn Jenner's conservative views.

Caitlyn is Ellen's first guest for the new talk show season

"She still has a judgement about gay marriage," Ellen began.

"You're wanting people to understand and accept you. This is like really confusing to people and you still have a judgement about gay people and marriage."

"She said 'if the word marriage is that important...' and I said it is because that's the word!"

Howard then asked a seemingly innocent question which Ellen answered in an unexpected way.

"No she didn't dance. I don't think she's a dancer. Maybe she didn't want to dance with me because I'm a lesbian..."

"I don't really know her, and I'm tyring to understand it, because I don't fully understand it but I want everyone to be happy... what I want for her, I want for me," Ellen continued.

Ellen finished by adding, "I think a lot of Republicans are wishing she wasn't Republican."
