Hollywood is still reeling in the wake of Harvey Weinstein's sexual assault revelations, so anything deemed as sexual assault or harassment is quickly being called out.
Ellen DeGeneres is usually one of the world's most loved celebrities, but she is now receiving major backlash over a tweet to Katy Perry.
Wishing Katy a happy birthday on Twitter, the comedian wrote: “Happy birthday, @katyperry! It’s time to bring out the big balloons!”

But what upset fans was the photo Ellen shared with the tweet - a picture of the comedian staring into the singer’s cleavage.
Twitter users were quick to call out the 59-year-old, with some even labelling her "Ellen Weinstein".
How is this acceptable with everything going on in Hollywood. If it was a man he would be blasted. Oh, that’s right she is lesbian. #unreal

Not appropriate, regardless of gender. I'd be offended if this tweet was about me on my birthday.

But others defended Ellen:
The difference is that here is A JOKE. They’re friends, Ellen was joking. Why is this hard to get?

No. It has to do with them being very good friends.
