Hilary Barry hits back at troll criticising her parenting

Breakfast host Hilary Barry has taken to Twitter to put a Facebook commentator in his place.

Barry, a mother of two, hosts the TVNZ current affairs show alongside Jack Tame five mornings a week.

But she wasn’t impressed when a man called ‘Rob’ blasted her for leaving her kids at home.

Under a recent Facebook post, he commented: “Maybe you should be home bringing up your children Hilary Barry and not leaving them to their own devices.”

The 47-year-old rebutted with: “The assumption my children are home alone because I'm at work. Wow.”

She used the hashtags ‘#facebookcomment #smh #everydaysexism’ to go with the post.

But Barry didn’t stop there, commenting on posts as the thread gained support.

Under the comment, “They're in the car with a bag of chips and a can of coke each, right?” she sarcastically replied: “That’s what all good mothers do right?”

Barry, also known as Hilz Baz, describes herself in her Twitter bio as “an early riser who likes strong coffee.”
