BUT James Corden IS Carpool Karaoke!
In July last year it was announced that the Late Late Show creators James Corden and Ben Winston, had sold the viral sensation that is Carpool Karaoke to Apple.
In the new 16-episode series for Apple Music, Carpool Karaoke will still air on Corden's show, but it will be a new version, with a new host(s).
Now they have just announced that other celebrities will act as one-off hosts, chauffeuring musical guests around while they belt out popular tunes, in replacement of James and his epic harmonies.Â
Deadline has specifically mentioned during a highlight reel shown during Carpool Karaoke’s TCA panel today, we see people like Chelsea Handler, Seth MacFarlane, John Legend and Billy Eichner sitting in the driver's seat.Â
It seems as though they will be paired with people like Alicia Keys, Ariana Grande, Metallica, and Will Smith. The show will also have a more interview-based element.
