The internet just loves to mummy-shame.
Last week, Julia Stiles took to Instagram to share a new photo of her and her newborn son Strummer.
In the picture Julia can be seen wearing her six-week-old son in a hands-free baby carrier.
Instagram users took to the comment section to vent their outrage.
"The baby's face is smothering!!!" one person said.
Another chimed in and wrote: "The baby is too small for this carrier. Try woven wrap."
A third said: "Feet out of waistband and baby's face visable please!"
"You're such an idiot! He's a newborn. Read the instructions!" said another.
"Please pull babies legs out for proper placement," a follower advised.
Unimpressed with the hate she was receiving, Julia has hit back at her critics.
The 36-year-old actress wrote on Instagram: "It was brought to my attention that in the previous photo I am not holding my baby correctly. Wow, I didn't expect that. What was supposed to be a shout out of products I like, suddenly becomes an invitation to comment on my baby, and my ability as a mother. That's the internet for you, the carnivorous plant from "Little Shop of Horrors".
"I was trying to keep much of my son's image private, including, I guess, his little feet. And it was just a photo taken at home, not how I normally carry him around. Thanks for the concern, anyway. Yes, Mothers, always read the safety instructions. But also, Instagrammers: instead of writing snarky comments about a 5 week old, try dancing around your living room to a Clash record. It's way more fun."
Go Julia! We think you're smashing it as a new mum!
