Live Action Aladdin Disney Movie In The Works!

A whole new world of Disney and the new movie will follow in the footsteps of real-life remakes including Maleficent, Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast (starring Emma Watson as Belle).

Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that Disney is developing Genies, a live-action prequel to the beloved 1992 animated movie Aladdin.

The film is set to explore the world of the Genies and give the full backstory about how the one who plays a central role in the cartoon became a slave to whoever holds the magic lamp.

The studio has also recently announced that it has a live-action Mulan and a revisionist Prince Charming movie in the works too.

Though Genies is still in early development, the studio is reportedly planning to follow it up with a live-action Aladdin movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The biggest question... who will play the pivotal character of Genie? It won't be easy following in Robin Williams' amazing footsteps.
