Melanie Lynskey’s surprise engagement

Melanie Lynskey says her engagement to fellow actor Jason Ritter came as a complete surprise.

The 39-year-old Kiwi actress and former Two and a Half Men star announced her happy news on the show Hollywood Today Live.

"Now he's my fiancé," she said. "I'm announcing it."

Ritter apparently proposed to her while they were chilling out on a sofa and she had no idea it was coming.

Both Ritter and Lynskey have been dating for four years after doing a movie together and are very much in love.

They have starred in three movies together; The Big Ask in 2013, We'll Never Have Paris in 2014 and The Intervention in 2016.

Lynskey admits she likes her privacy.

“I have a totally private Instagram because I don’t like to let people know where I am.”

She has a new movie, I Don’t Feel At Home in this World Anymore, debuting on Netflix next week.
