Mila Kunis has opened up about the years she dated former child star Macaulay Culkin, saying "fans responded in a very abnormal way to him".

The pair's nine-year relationship began in 2002, and Kunis told Howard Stern the Home Alone star's fame was difficult to deal with.

"He was huge because you couldn't walk down the street with him," she said on Stern's Sirius XM radio show.

"He always had this weird (attraction)...fans just screamed - they didn't know how to react. It wasn't like a normal response to a celebrity. The fans responded in a very abnormal way to him."

In the candid interview, Stern asked the Bad Mums star whether she ever loved Culkin enough to want to marry him.

"Honestly, who knows, I just don't know," she said.

"But I know before we started dating, since I was 16, I told my dad, 'Just so you know, I don't believe in marriage'.

"And then at one point, I was like, 'I'll get married when gay people are allowed to get married'. I was literally like, 'This is not for me'".

Her feelings about marriage have since changed, with Kunis now married to Ashton Kutcher.
