After the release of a statement confirming news that Miss Piggy and Kermit The Frog would be splitting, a recent article outlining Miss Piggy's modern take on feminism surfaced on TIME.

The article is autobiographical, written by Miss Piggy, about Miss Piggy. The main purpose is to explain why she deserved a Sackler Center First Award from the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, and outlines what Piggy contributes to the feminist movement and how she takes a different stance on the movement.

Introducing her beliefs on the topic, Piggy states "I believe that any woman who refuses to accept society’s preconceived notions of who or what they can be is a feminist. I believe any woman who is willing to struggle, strive — and if necessary learn karate — to make their mark in the world is a feminist. And, yes, I believe that any woman, who cares about her appearance, her star billing and most especially her percentage of the gross, is a feminist."
