15 year old Brooke Fretwell sat in Bay 17, Row L, Seat 2 at Pepper Stadium in Penrith, NSW for the past five years... but this Sunday, it will be empty after Brooke tragically died from brain cancer on January 4th.

The Penrith Panthers have made the heartfelt gesture to "retire" the seat right near the player's tunnel in honour of Brooke, and it will no longer be for sale.

They also honoured their long-time fan with a plaque reading, "In loving memory of Brooke Maree Fretwell. 6th July 1999 — 4th January 2015. Panthers Fan Forever."

After finding out about Brooke’s incurable illness in September 2013, the Panthers players visited her for 18 months in the oncology ward at The Children’s Hospital in Westmead, NSW.
