Schapelle Corby has decided to give music a go... although her debut single 'Palm Trees' has been mercilessly mocked by the Internet.

The convicted Australian drug smuggler took to Instagram to share with her almost 200,000 followers a cheesy pop song featuring her own vocals.

As expected though, the song has raised eyebrows, with people asking if the cringe-worthy song was a deliberate attempt to nab headlines.

Corby, who was born in Queensland, was convicted in 2005 of the importation of cannabis to Indonesia. She was sentenced to 20 years by the Denpansar District Court.

In 2012, she was granted a five-year sentence reduction. She was released in 2014 after serving nine years in prison. In May 2017 the 40-year-old returned to Australia.
