At this year's Golden Globes, celebrities wore black as a show of support for the Time’s Up movement.
And today's BAFTAs followed suit.
So naturally, royal watchers were eager to see Kate Middleton's dress choice for the evening.
The Duchess of Cambridge hit the red carpet with her husband, Prince William, wearing a dark green cap-sleeved Jenny Packham gown.
She accessorised with emerald jewellery, suede Prada heels, a black clutch and a black sash underneath her bust, which accentuated her baby bump.
So why did the mum-of-two opt to not wear black?
Because it's against royal protocol.
The royal family are not allowed to be seen as making a political statement.
And fans are not happy about the Duchess' decision...
I know the Royals aren’t supposed to get involved with “protests” or anything… but would it really have been THAT bad for Kate Middleton to wear black??? #BAFTAs2018

Quite a bummer to see that the Duchess of Cambridge didn't wear black to the #BAFTAs and not a #TimesUp pin on either Cambridge.

There is nothing political about standing up to sexual assault. This should've been an easy choice for them to make, and they failed.
Dear #KateMiddleton your time is up! A black belt? Seriously? We're ready for our new role model in Meghan Markle! #BAFTAs2018

The sexual harassment group Time’s Up was formed in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein allegations back in October.
