You'll Never Look At 'Friends' The Same Way Again After This

Friends co-creator Marta Kaufman has shocked fans of the hugely popular TV show..

She has revealed that the Monica & Chandler's romance was only initially intended to be a fling!!

Talking about their famous one night stand in London, she said at the ATX Television Festival: "We had no idea what response that was going to get."

According to Marta, the studio screams were so loud during the taping of the hotel bedroom scene, they had to pause filming. "Suddenly, the audience told us they had been waiting for that," she adds. "We had to rethink how we were going to keep going and change the relationship."

Kauffman explained that they decided to keep the story in because fans loved the relationship so much.

She added: "We thought it was going to be funny and we were going to get rid of it.

As for the show's other set of soul mates, there was never a doubt in Kauffman's mind that Ross Geller and Rachel Green would find their way back to each other.

Ending the series any other way? "That would have been dumb."

Just think of how different the show would've been if Monica & Chandler hadn't gotten together, as the writers initially intended?!
