A 'Practical Magic' sequel is coming and it looks so good!
They're back. And the magic never left.
Cancel your Halloween plans because we just found your new favourite cosy October movie and it hasn't even come out yet.
The latest trailer for Practical Magic 2 just dropped, and it's giving everything the nostalgic corner of your heart has been quietly hoping for. Self-spinning spoons? Check. Umbrella dives off the roof? Check. That cosy, chaotic Owens family energy that made the original a cult classic? Absolutely check.
Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are back as Sally and Gillian, and honestly, not much has changed in the best possible way. Sally is still baking beautiful cakes and steering clear of men, while Gillian has fully embraced the modern era and is out here swiping on Tinder. Aunt Jet and Aunt Frances (the legendary Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing) are still dispensing wisdom like only they can.
But this time, it's the next generation stepping into the magic. Sally's daughters, played by Joey King and Maisie Williams, stumble onto a truth that's been buried in family folklore: "Remember when mom would tell us stories where everyone who fell in love… died?" Turns out those bedtime stories weren't just stories. When Kylie's love interest gets hit by a car, the girls set off to break a curse that's followed the Owens women for generations, pulling Sally and Gillian into an adventure that lands them in London seeking help from a mysterious new face (Lee Pace).

The soundtrack alone will give you chills. Harry Nilsson's "Coconut" gives way to Lana Del Rey's haunting "Season of the Witch" as the trailer shifts from warm and whimsical to something altogether darker.
Directed by Susanne Bier and based on Alice Hoffman's 2021 novel The Book of Magic, this one looks set to honour everything that made the original so beloved while giving it a whole new story to tell.
Practical Magic 2 hits theatres September 10. Midnight margaritas with friends. You know the drill. 🌙
