It's the age-old question: Do you shower before bed or first thing in morning?

But now experts have weighed in on the debate, and... drum roll please...

Showering before bed is best!

According to professor Mary-Louise McLaws, an expert in hygiene and infection control at the University of New South Wales, a shower at night washes off the sweat, oils and allergens of the day, giving you better shut-eye and radiant skin.

That’s right. Each night you hop into bed unclean, you add more and more germs to your bed... Germs that you then stew in for eight hours.

“You’re putting in dirty feet and a sweaty, odoured body on to your clean sheets. If you want to only shower in the morning, you’ll probably need to wash your pillowcase and your sheets more often,” she says.

If you're not that keen on an evening shower, it's extremely important to wash your face before laying on your pillow to prevent oils from building up and causing acne.

So are there any benefits to a morning shower?

Apparently it helps to boost creativity!

So interesting.
