Duane Schrock moved around the US several times and the card just couldn't catch up with him… until now.

The Father’s Day card was originally mailed in 1989 and it’s sender, Mr Schrock’s son Duane, passed away in 1995 at the age of 45 from AIDS.

Schrock says he didn't agree with his son's homosexual lifestyle and their relationship was at times tumultuous.

Twenty-six years later, he reads the words written by his son…  "Dear Dad, we haven't been in touch for quite a while. I'm doing fine and am very happy in Richmond. I would like to hear from you. Have a Happy Father's Day. Love, Duane."

Mr Schrock says it's like a sign from heaven that his son is doing just fine and wanted to thank all the postal workers who kept the card in circulation.
