Dilmah ranked NZ’s Most Trusted Tea Brand for 11 years running
Some brands chase trust with slogans. Dilmah earned it, one honest cup at a time.
Where it started
Founded in 1985 by Merrill J. Fernando, Dilmah did things differently from day one. While big tea companies shipped bulk leaf offshore to be blended by strangers, Fernando insisted on handpicking and packing tea at its source to preserve freshness.
Still family-run
Dilmah is a family tea company founded on family values, now led by Dilhan Fernando, Merrill's son, with grandson Amrit also keenly involved. Three generations in, the standard hasn't slipped.
Trust that costs something
While many brands have quietly softened their environmental and social commitments in recent years, Dilmah has held firm with 15% of profits going back to support the environment (including baby Elephants!) and humanity
A refresh, not a reinvention
Same family. Same standards. New chapter.
In conjunction with World Elephant Day Dilmah are launching our new brand message. Asking if the Baby Elephant, a character from the Dilmah Elephant Sanctury in Udawale, Sri Lanka cares about Tea? Of course, not but our Baby Elephant and everything Dilmah supports comes from Kiwis drinking Dilmah Tea.
Dilmah have new packs of shelf, looking more Ceylon than ever… Do Try It!
