Disney has just announced that Hocus Pocus 2 is coming - with the same iconic cast!

In celebration of Halloween, Disney has a special treat for us all!

The entertainment company has just announced that the much-anticipated sequel for Hocus Pocus is coming to the streaming platform next year - and the film will feature the same iconic cast as the 1993 classic.

Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy will reprise their roles as Winifred, Sarah and Mary Sanderson, respectively.

Also joining the original cast is Ted Lasso's Hannah Waddingham, Veep's Tony Hale and Sam Richardson.

The original Hocus Pocus, directed by Kenny Ortega, starred Midler, Parker and Najimy as three witches accidentally resurrected in Salem, Mass.

The film wasn’t a box office hit, but gained a strong cult following in the years that followed, thanks to repeat airings on the Disney Channel.

A follow-up has been in development since 2017, when Disney Channel considered doing a full-blown remake of the original. Then in 2019, it was reported that a proper sequel was being eyed at Disney+.

A formal premiere date for Hocus Pocus 2 has not yet been announced, but Disney+ has confirmed a spring 2022 release.
