Disney+ will be streaming the hit Broadway musical 'Hamilton' for Kiwis to enjoy at home

Theatre fans will soon be able to experience one of Broadway’s biggest hits from the comfort of their own home!

That’s right - Disney+ is bringing the original Broadway Production of Hamilton to their streaming service next week for fans to enjoy.

The production features the musical’s original cast, shot within The Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway.

For those unfamiliar with Hamilton – written, composed, and starring Lin-Manuel Miranda (Mary Poppins Returns, Moana, In the Heights) – tells the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton, set to a genre-blended score of hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway.

The production first debuted in 2015 and in 2016 took home a slew of Tony Awards.

In April this year the original cast - including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr, Jonathan Groff, Anthony Ramos, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Phillipa Soo, Christopher Jackson, and Daveed Diggs - reunited on Zoom to surprise a super-fan, Aubrey, on John Krasinski’s Some Good News web-series.
