Dog dyed to look like the Grinch has sparked outrage online from animal-lovers

One woman has caused outrage online after revealing her dog’s Christmas look.

Taking to TikTok, Ashley Spielmann shared a video of her dog – a miniature schnauzer named Rizzo - being dyed at the groomer to look like exactly the Grinch.

“When your groomer slays making your dog into the Grinch,” she wrote over the video, which shows the pup’s white fur being dyed green and red, to make him look like the holiday character wearing a Santa suit.

The clip quickly went viral, and while many viewers loved Rizzo’s look, others weren’t so sure.

“This dog didn’t ask to have this done to it,” one said.

Another added: “The dog looks so sad.”

“I just. wouldn’t,” one added, while another called the four-legged pooch a “poor baby”.

Following the backlash, the groomer behind the festive look, Hailey Degner explained that the dye was completely safe being both vegan and non-toxic.

Later, Ashley responded to people, showing that Rizzo appeared to be unphased by his Grinch look.

The video has gained more than 11.5 million views since it was uploaded.
