Here are the first seven Kiwi blokes vying for Lexie's heart on 'The Bachelorette NZ'

Lexie Brown was revealed as New Zealand’s next bachelorette – and now we get to meet some of the Kiwi blokes who will be vying for the 31-year-old Wellingtonian’s heart.

Here are the first seven contestants set to join the new season of The Bachelorette New Zealand! Do you think any of them will be the one for our gal Lexie?

Nathan Loo

Occupation: Musician

Although he didn’t sign up himself (he’s got his sister to thank for that!), Nathan decided to give the opportunity a go, and now he’s ready to meet our bachelorette!

Nathan is hoping that he can find that perfect partner to help take his lovable pooch on walks with.

The Auckland based jazz muso is hoping he’ll be able to woo our bachelorette with his music. With plans to serenade our bachelorette on the red carpet, will he get a standing ovation, or will he be singing the blues home?

What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done?

Surprised her with a trip to Fiji as a birthday gift!

What do you think is your best quality in a relationship?

Thoughtfulness and generosity. I always do what I can to make sure my partner feels heard and understood.

Aidan Uttinger

Occupation: Entrepreneur
Location: Cambridge/Auckland

Age: 39

Aidan returned to NZ following the global pandemic, after spending the last year living in Bali.

Basing himself in Cambridge with his mum, he’s enjoyed spending more quality time with his family, after he left home at 17.

A ‘dabbling’ entrepreneur, Aidan has his hands in many pies - mainly a tequila company based in America called Religion, and an app he’s working on to spread love around the world.

What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done?

I adopted two stars in the sky that could be seen next to each other in both hemispheres. So when my crush was working overseas she would be able to look up and see them both, and know we were together.

What do you think is your best quality in a relationship?

I am extremely creative and romantic. Whoever snags me will get very well looked after!

Damien Ducloux

Occupation: Programme Coordinator
Location: Auckland

Originally from France, Damien moved to New Zealand when he was 14 to start a new life with his family.

When he got to NZ, he had to learn English from the ground up, so he’s prepared to put in the hard yards!

A bit of a jokester, Damien loves to laugh and make others around him happy.

With playing soccer, netball, basketball, video games and hanging out with friends as his hobbies on the weekend, let’s hope he’s got time for our bachelorette!

What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done?

I once learned to play and sing the song Stand By Me on guitar, took my partner at the time to the beach, lit up a small bonfire and we spent the night talking and dancing by the fire with my lame guitar skills ha! 

What would be your spirit animal?

I think my spirit animal would be a butterfly, because my life is always unfolding into new adventures. I’m always changing as a person and I always look forward to those changes. The ability to learn from my mistakes and grow can also be represented with the butterfly. The butterfly is also a form of rebirth and I wear my heart on my sleeve and I fall quite often.

Jack Becroft

Occupation: Account Manager

Describing himself as a ‘hopeless romantic’, Jack believes that there is someone out there for everyone. He's hoping that the special someone he’s looking for is our bachelorette!

When it comes to a relationship, Jack sees himself as the type of guy who always tries to put others’ needs before his own. Fittingly, his love language is service to others.

As for his dream girl, he’s looking for someone independent, fun-loving, friendly and easy going.

Tell us about your dating history:

My relationship history is pretty limited. I’ve casually dated but mainly stayed single as I travelled around a bit as it was easier. I also suck at picking up women, so that definitely doesn’t help either. My last serious relationship ended in 2019 when I had to leave America because my visa ended.

What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done?

I have had The Notebook style kiss in the rain under a streetlamp after a first date. We both laughed out how cliché it was!

Jarrod Isopo

Occupation: Financial Analyst

Jarrod is hoping to find someone special, who’ll eat a picnic of fried chicken and watch Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham with him.

His role as a financial analyst saw him working first-hand with the Covid-19 response team, creating financial models for managed isolation facilities.

Jarrod’s hoping it isn’t the last time he’s involved with policies and politics. Instead, he wants to be in the Beehive, making those decisions.

I like to think I’m attentive. I really try my best to understand my partner’s worldview and think of the best ways we can make each other happy. It’s about building something together that we can both be proud of.

Jake Ryan

Occupation: Primary School Teacher
Location: Tauranga

Hoping to show his younger brother how it’s done, another Ryan brother is heading to the mansion!

When his brother Quinn brought Lily home, Jake got to see what the experience was all about first-hand, and decided to sign up himself.

Spending several years in Palmerston North, Jake graduated as a primary school teacher with a Bachelor of Education.

Now based in Tauranga, he teaches Year 3&4 children, a career he finds extremely rewarding.
