Here's why some people turn nasty when they drink

We often see drunk people being rude, out-of-control and even aggressive.
A new study, by Roope Tikkanen, M.D, Ph. D. from Finland, thinks he may have found an explanation as to why people act that way when they’ve had one too many.
The researchers concluded that genes play an important role in determining how people act when they are drunk. They found that when they interviewed and ran tests on 150 participants, those with certain personality traits and alcoholic tendencies had a genetic mutation called HTR2B Q20, according to the New York Post.
People with HTR2B Q20 become angry more easily when drinking whereas for others without the mutation it can make them happy, or horny. Tikkanen argues that the mutation affects around 2 per cent of the population – if you have behaviour issues when drinking it may well be worth taking it into account.
However, like all research it can be difficult to generalise a small sample like this one, therefore it could be worse or better than Tikkanen is hypothesising.
