Whether you're a parent or not, you'll be aware that it is back-to-school week.

And while every other family is running around sorting their kid's school supplies, one mother is taking the time to teach her daughter about the power of her words.

Amy Beth Gardner took to her Facebook to shared an image of a plate of spilt toothpaste.

Alongside the photo, she explained how she the simple household item was actually a powerful metaphor to teach her daughter.

So women are now using toothpaste to test if they’re pregnant ...

Gardner asked her 11-year-old daughter, Breonna, to squeeze toothpaste onto a plate, then asked her to put the paste back into the tube.

When her daughter protested, Gardner told her to remember the plate of toothpaste for the rest of her life.

"Just like this toothpaste, once the words leave your mouth, you can't take them back," she said.

"As you go into middle school, you are about to see just how much weight your words carry."

"You are going to have the opportunity to use your words to hurt, demean, slander and wound others. You are also going to have the opportunity to use your words to heal, encourage, inspire and love others," she continued.

"Decide tonight that you are going to be a life-giver in middle school. Be known for your gentleness and compassion. Use your life to give life to a world that so desperately needs it. You will never, ever regret choosing kindness," she finished.

And it's clearly a lesson we all need — because the post has since been shared over 1.5million times!
