'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days' sequel is officially happening, and rom-com fans are losing it

Dust off the love fern because How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is officially getting a sequel.

More than 20 years after Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey gave us one of the most iconic rom-coms of the 2000s, Paramount is reportedly moving ahead with a follow-up, with Hudson signed on as a producer.

Details are still pretty hush-hush, but the plan is reportedly for Hudson and McConaughey to return as Andie Anderson and Ben Barry. The original film followed a magazine writer trying to drive her boyfriend away in 10 days, while he was secretly trying to make her fall in love with him. Safe to say, things got messy in the best possible way.

Hudson has previously said she fought hard for McConaughey to land the role because of the chemistry they shared on screen. And it clearly paid off. McConaughey recently revealed the movie still brings in the biggest residual cheques of his career, calling it "the gift that keeps on giving."

More than two decades later, new generations are still discovering the film, proving some rom-coms never go out of style. Now we just need to find out what Andie and Ben have been up to all these years later.
