If you love sending a quick thumbs-up emoji in a text or responding to an email, we've got some bad news for you.

It turns out Gen Z have banded together to insist that the thumbs-up emoji needs to die a natural death.

While Gen Xs have been using it for some time ... and in a positive way (we thought), those born between 97 and 2012 agree that the thumbs-up emoji is rude and passive-aggressive, especially if used within a work environment.

Other emojis that are now deemed uncool are the "OK" hand sign 👌, checkmark ✅, poop 💩, cry-laughing face 😂, monkey covering eyes 🙈, clapping hands 👏, lipstick kiss mark 💋, and grimacing face 😬.

That’s right, so many of our go-to emojis are now out of fashion.

So which emojis are on trend?

Apparently, Gen Zs are giving the green tick to (but not in emoji form) include the skull 💀, clown 🤡, fire 🔥, eyes 👀 and the upside-down face emoji 🙃.

RIP thumbs-up emoji 👍😭.
