Kate Winslet has shared with Variety that's she's back acting after a year off to rest in 2021.

We're excited to welcome one of our favourite actresses back to our screens!

"I took last year off to be with my family and to recover from Mare of Easttown. It was good to have a bit of a reset," said Winslet.

Alongside taking care of and spending time with her children, Bear (8), Joe (18) and Mia (21), Kate had to work hard to stay fit for her role in HBO's Mare of Easttown (available to watch now on Neon).

"I had to physically do a lot of tackling and fighting and arresting people, you know, taking huge grown men down to the ground," Winslet said, there was "a lot of running" in the show.

Kate has won several awards for her role of Mare Sheehan in Mare of Easttown, including  Outstanding Lead Actress In A Limited or Anthology Series or Movie in the 2021 Emmy Awards and The Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series this year.

We can't wait to see her in the upcoming Avatar sequels - the first film will be released on 16 December 2022 with new sequels arriving each year until 2025.
