Kiwi chocolate lovers, you may want to look away because this will only cause you pain.

Our beloved Whittaker’s chocolate has been ranked on a list of worst to best chocolate brands by Tasting Table and it’s not looking good.

For some bizarre reason Kiwi chocolate brand ranked near the bottom of Tasting Table’s list, coming in at 19th place – out of 20 chocolate brands.

… We’ll give you a moment to recover from this shocking news …

Whittaker’s was beaten out by big brands like Cadbury, Nestle, Mars, Hershey’s, and Lindt – which took out the top spot on the chocolate list.

"Heshey’s is number three? Hershey’s can get in the bin," one outraged Kiwi told The Hits.

"Basically a declaration of war," they added.

"What?! Why is Whittaker’s not number one?" another shocked Kiwi said.

However, it seems the American publication’s reason for ranking Whittaker’s so low on the list has more to do with the price of importing it into the USA than it does with the taste.

"High-quality chocolate does not come cheap,” Tasting Table wrote in their rankings.

"Whittaker's is known for being a high-end candy brand, one that's often imported — another reason why it costs more to purchase. With this being said, the taste is worth the price if you are able to swing it."

"The only reason Whittaker's landed lower on our list is due to the price to ship for consumers outside of Australia or New Zealand."

Hmmm … we’re not sure that’s a good enough reason.

Don’t worry Whittaker’s, you’ll always be number one in Kiwi hearts.
