Kiwis will be able to watch the new 'How I Met Your Mother' spin-off series in NZ soon!

If you loved the long-running comedy How I Met Your Mother, well you’re in luck!

The gender-swap spin-off of the beloved show - titled How I Met Your Father - is almost there for Kiwi audiences to devour.

Starring Hilary Duff as Sophie, How I Met Your Father follows a similar premise to the original sitcom, which ran from 2005 through until 2014.

"In the near future, Sophie (Hilary Duff) is telling her son the story of how she met his father: a story that catapults us back to the year 2021 where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options," the synopsis of the comedy reads.

The new show also stars the likes of Chris Lowell, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran, Suraj Sharma and the one and only Kim Cattrall who will narrate the show as the older version of Sophie.

How I Met Your Father's creator is Isaac Aptaker, who is known for his work on Love Simon and This I Us - so if you loved those, there is a chance you will enjoy this new series.

The show is set to be released on Disney+ in New Zealand on March 9 - less than two months from now!
