Man Plays Cruel Proposal Prank On Girlfriend

A man in the United States has played what is quite possibly the cruelest prank EVER on his girlfriend.

He hid a ring box in his sock drawer, as he knew that she liked to go through his things.

When she opened it, instead of the engagement ring she had hoped for, inside of it was a note saying 'lol, jk' - shorthand for laugh out loud, just kidding.

The image, which has been viewed more than two million times, quickly saw Griffin labeled as the 'meanest man on earth' by women and men alike.

'Not funny, just plain disrespectful and cruel. She does your laundry and you do that?' wrote one Reddit user.

'I don't usually call people douche bags... but god, you're a f***ing douche prick,' wrote another.
