Mounir Namour had planned to be on the MS804 flight between Paris and Cairo that disappeared off the radar late last week.

He got as far as Charles De Gaulle Airport but decided to change his flight to the next day when his parents told him not to get on the plane, because they wanted him to stay in Paris one more night.

He told NBC News: "I said to myself, I'm really lucky. Honestly I'm really lucky.

"It was really difficult when I saw the news flash. I had knots in my stomach and I have had it ever since then.

"Arriving at the airport even my parents said not to get on board the plane but there you go".

The fate of the plane is still being looked into, with terrorism not being ruled out.
