Netflix's new girl power comedy flick 'Moxie' starring Amy Poehler is out today

Ladies, get ready to get your rebel on!

Netflix’s latest kick-ass movie is out today and it’s all about girl power!

Directed by and starring the amazing Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation, Inside Out), Moxie tells the story of a shy 16-year-old who is "fed up with the sexist and toxic status quo at her high school".

She finds "inspiration from her mother’s rebellious past and anonymously publishes a zine that sparks a school-wide, coming-of-rage revolution," Netflix describes the flick.

"I just loved the thought of digging into how important it is to continually find your voice, to figure out what you care about, to put that into action," Poehler says about the film. "I hope that what it does is inspire people and remind people that it takes very little to make change and really the first step is sometimes the hardest. So whatever is your version of the first step, there's probably somebody out there feeling the same."

Alongside Poehler, Moxie also stars Hadley Robinson, Alycia Pascual-Pena, Nico Hiraga, Ike Barinholtz and Marcia Gay Harden.

The movie is based on the “sweet, funny, and fierce” novel by Jennifer Mathieu.

Moxie is out on Netflix from today, Wednesday, March 3.
