'Santa Cams' are the new way to keep kids on their best behaviour this Christmas

The 'naughty and nice list' isn't exactly a new concept when it comes to keeping kids on their best behaviour. But this new creation gives parents a new method of monitoring and gives kids a reason to be nice 24/7.

The 'Santa Cam' isn't exactly a camera as the name suggests (don't tell the kids this) but instead just a lens shaped piece of paper with a red 'recording light'.

Here's an example of the 'Santa Cam' working its magic as the little girl speaks directly to the team up at the North Pole.

By sticking this 'lens' to a decoration on the Christmas tree, or hanging it somewhere round the house, the kids will be under the impression that they are  constantly being monitored by the big man of the north.

Parents aren't the only ones to have jumped on to this craze, as teachers are also keeping Santa crazed kids under close scrutiny with a lens installed in the classroom somewhere.

If anything, this new fad shows how the times are changing, back in the day, just the thought of Santa leaving us off his list was fear inducing enough to be good all year round.

With the only other alternative being the "'Elf on a Shelf' this creation has the potential to really take off,  as it is a lot cheaper and doesn't take much time at all to make.

Even though the idea of putting a camera in your house for other people watch your kids may be a little creepy, as long as it's only plastic and it keeps the good behavior up, we're all for it!
