Woman do not get paid as much as men do in the same position, the news isn't new but the research around it is.
The Cass Business school in London have recently published research that shows woman under 40 are just as likely to be granted a raise as their male co-workers.
The study came out of Australia, using 4,500 employees from 840 different work places.
The point of difference is apparently created when woman ask for that raise, men have 25% more chance of getting it than they do.
For years, study's have put this down to how woman are less pushy and aggressive than men on this topic.
The researchers stated that they were expecting to find the old evidence that woman weren't as pushy, but didn't find anything of the sort.
Associate professor at the Cass Business school, Amanda Goodall, who was a co-author on the piece said that the findings must be a step in the right direction
"That's got to bode well for reducing the gender pay gap" she stated.
Maybe the tides are finally turning, but there's going to have to be more proof than this.Â
