Taylor Swift announces first new song since wedding and fans think the clues were there all along

Swifties were quick to crack the code after Taylor Swift dropped a mysterious countdown on her website.

Taylor Swift has officially announced a brand new song, and her fans are already counting down the hours until its release.

The singer revealed that her latest track, Patient Zero, will arrive on Friday, marking her first new solo release since marrying NFL star Travis Kelce earlier this year.

In true Taylor fashion, the announcement came with a mystery.

Fans noticed a countdown clock appear on her website on Tuesday, set against a dramatic red curtain. At the same time, Swift's Instagram bio was updated to read: "And, baby, that's sh0w business f0r y0u", with every "o" replaced by a zero.

It didn't take long for devoted Swifties to start piecing the clues together.

When the countdown reached zero, the singer's website revealed Patient Zero along with three limited-edition CD versions of the track, including acoustic and piano recordings.

Meanwhile, other fans have noted that there are easter eggs for this song as far back as Swift's announcement of her The Life Of A Showgirl album on her husband's podcast.

The release comes just months after Swift and Kelce tied the knot in July, and she's continued to make headlines since the wedding.

Over the weekend, Swift was spotted cheering from the stands at Arrowhead Stadium as Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs took on the Indianapolis Colts. Cameras caught the singer celebrating after Kelce scored his first touchdown of the season, with reports claiming she pointed to her wedding ring and proudly declared: "That's my husband!"

The Chiefs went on to win the game 33-30.

Swift has also been spending time with some famous company at NFL games. Earlier this month she was seen sitting alongside actor Tom Cruise, who later joked that the singer had been giving him a crash course in football.

Speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Cruise praised Swift's knowledge of the game, saying she was "schooling" him on the rules and describing her as a "brilliant writer", musician and director.

With a new song on the way and fans eagerly searching for hidden meanings in every clue, it's safe to say the next Taylor Swift era may already be underway.
