There's nothing worse than waking up with a hangover.
But don't worry, we're here to tell you how to avoid the dreaded aftermath that comes with drinking.
Thanks to physiologist Kevin Strang, from the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Wisconsin–Madison Medical School, there are two things that are scientifically proven to beat your hangover.
Can you guess what they are?
Sports drink and chicken noodle soup!
Yep, these two deliver salt, sugar and water to the system.
Strang explained that dehydration and low blood sugar is what makes you feel so terrible.
The liver is unable to give you the glucose you need because it's too busy detoxifying the alcohol.
So to get rid of your hangover, you need salts, sugars and B vitamins - which is found in meat and in chicken broth.
The salt makes it possible for the kidneys to absorb water and the sugar helps the liver.
If you're a vegetarian, miso soup is a good alternative.
Strang also revealed you shouldn't drink water because the alcohol in your system blocks a hormone that tells your kidneys how much water you should lose when you pee, so it'll basically just passes through your system without being absorbed.
