Leave the driving for someone who hasn’t had anything to drink. While this would be ideal, reality is some people still think they’re “good enough” to drive when in reality, they are not. New technology has been developed to help curb such drivers and keep them off the road.
Drive Alcohol Detection System for Safety (DADSS) has revealed the prototype for two anti-drunk driving systems. One is a discrete breathalyzer mounted to the steering wheel, and the second is a touch sensor embedded to ignition start buttons.
If BAC (blood alcohol content) levels are above a 0.08, the breathalyzer and sensor will be able to detect it, keeping the potential driver from even turning on the car.
