What started out as a bit of fun, has become a whirlwind sensation.

Introducing the 'crookie', a combination of a croissant and a chocolate chip cookie.

This decadent sweet treat was created in Paris at Maison Louvard by Stéphane Louvard.

The 'crookie' now has floods of people eager to try it thanks to videos being shared on social media, which has put Maison Louvard on the map!

Look at the creation of this masterpiece.

The 'crookie's' sales were humble to begin, with only a couple of dozen at most sold a day, but thanks to social media this has skyrocketed to over 200 sold daily.

@just.restless I was very intrigued by this croissant-cookie hybrid and they actually have managed to pull it off! 🥐 The centre is nice and gooey, but the outside is crispy. Even better if you manage to score one fresh from the oven! #crookie #croissantcookie #croissant #cookie #maisonlouvard #pastry #paris #parisfood ♬ original sound - Alex | Paris Life

Now other Parisian restaurants are trying to imitate this masterpiece but nothing will beat the original. People from Germany and Brazil were found lining up for this treat to get a taste of where this new phenomenon was born.

Hopefully, we will see 'crookie's' in a New Zealand bakery soon!
