Woman Miraculously Gets Engagement Ring Back After Flushing It Down Toilet

A woman from California learned the hard way to remember where you put your engagement ring - after she accidentally flushed it down the toilet.

Carissa Wolter told NBC4 that she placed her engagement ring and earrings in a tissue while she cleaned the bathroom.

She was frantic when she realized that in the midst of cleaning that she tossed it in the toilet and flushed.

"It's like a needle in a haystack. How would you find a ring and two small earrings in a sewer?" Wolter said.

But all was not lost. The engagement ring was found.

A crew helped lift the manhole cover connected to her home and they found the priceless jewelry.

They said she was lucky to have a low flow sewer main. Otherwise the ring would have been a goner.
