"It's Baltimore, 1999. Hae Min Lee, a popular high-school senior, disappears after school one day. Six weeks later detectives arrest her classmate and ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed, for her murder. He says he's innocent - though he can't exactly remember what he was doing on that January afternoon. But someone can. A classmate at Woodlawn High School says she knows where Adnan was. The trouble is, she’s nowhere to be found."

Oscar-nominated filmmaker Amy Berg explores the 1999 disappearance and murder of 18-year-old Baltimore County high school student Hae Min Lee.  Her ex-boyfriend Adnan Syed was convicted of her murder, but is he guilty?

This re-examination of the case looks back at the original police investigation, presenting new discoveries and groundbreaking revelations that challenge the state's case.

The full season of The Case Against Adnan Syed will be available Wednesday 1 May, exclusively on TVNZ OnDemand.
