New Zealand police surprise five-year-old birthday boy after he invited them to his party by calling 111

One Kiwi boy got the surprise of his life on Saturday after the Counties Manukau police arrived on his doorstep to join in the celebrations of his police-themed fifth birthday party.

During preparations for the party, the audacious young Aucklander rang 111 multiples times so he could invite his heroes to his birthday.

But he was unsuccessful.

Little did Zachery know, a concerned police communications operator rang back the number and spoke to his mother, Sarah.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry. That was my nearly five-year-old son, he was just telling me that he wanted to invite police to his police-themed fifth birthday party," Sarah told the operator.

While sharing a laugh over the youngsters sweet intentions, the operator said: "I don't know if we'll be able to make but it but I'll put it in."
