Forget dumping ice buckets, dancing or planking, the latest viral phenomenon sweeping the internet consists of people standing still as part of the "mannequin challenge".

Even Destiny's Child have had their turn!

The craze essentially consists of every person in the clip getting into a funny position, usually pretending to be frozen mid-action, and staying motionless as someone films them - even our NZ Rugby League Kiwis have tried it out.

Rae Sremmurd's new song "Black Beatles" is always the song of choice in the videos.

The first known appearance of the #MannequinChallenge surfaced on Twitter in late October.

It's believed to have been created by high school students at the Edward H. White High School in Jacksonville, Florida - since then, it's blown up!
