Video: Former Christchurch Police Building Imploded

The old police station in the centre of Christchurch was destroyed in a controlled implosion today.

The station suffered serious damage in the 2011 earthquakes and was one of the largest buildings in the city in be demolished in a controlled explosion.

Police encouraged the public to stay away from the scene and view the implosion online, as vantage points to watch the implosion live were extremely limited.
