The Farmers Santa Parade Returns This November

Get ready to kick off the festive season when the Farmers Santa Parade returns on Sunday 29 November 2026!

Gather the whānau and head into the city for Auckland’s most magical Christmas tradition. Expect dazzling floats, spectacular costumes, beloved characters, live entertainment, and of course, a very special appearance from Santa Claus himself.

The fun doesn't stop when the parade ends! Join Jono, Ben & Megan at Santa's Party in Aotea Square for free family entertainment plus rides, giveaways, delicious food, festive activities, and one last chance to see Santa before he heads back to the North Pole.

Sunday 29 November 2026 | Festivities from 12 PM

If weather conditions are unsuitable, a postponement decision will be announced by 9am on Sunday 29 November via the Farmers Santa Parade website and Facebook page. If postponed, the parade will take place on Sunday 6 December 2026.

Pre-Parade Fun | 12 PM to 1 PM

Arrive early to soak up the festive atmosphere before the main event begins. Enjoy Christmas choirs, live bands, interactive characters, and plenty of entertainment to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.

Farmers Santa Parade | 1 PM to 2:30 PM

Watch Auckland's streets come alive with colourful floats, performers, marching groups, and festive characters.

The 1.6km parade route starts near the corner of Mayoral Drive and Federal Street by the Aotea Centre. The parade takes approximately one hour to pass any given viewing point along the route.

Santa's Party | 2:30 PM to 5 PM

Once you've waved to Santa and cheered on your favourite parade characters, head straight to Aotea Square for the ultimate family Christmas celebration.

Santa's Party features:

Getting There

Public transport is the easiest way to get to the parade. Try the new City Rail Link, getting into the city is easier than ever! Consider travelling via Waitematā Station or Te Waihorotiu Station for convenient access to the parade and Aotea Square festivities.

Parade Route & Road Closures

The parade route stretches for 1.6km and takes approximately one hour to pass any given point. To safely accommodate the parade, all inner-city roads will be closed from 10am to 5pm on Sunday 29 November. If you're driving into the city, aim to arrive before 10am to avoid delays.
