Whatever kind of runner, or walker, you are, get ready to take on one of the Bay’s most iconic events and finish at Mount Main Beach.
The Hits Bay of Plenty is getting behind the Mitre 10 Mega Tauranga City to Surf, returning on Sunday 8 November 2026.
Whether you’re chasing a personal best, walking with your mates, taking on your first event or simply turning up for the atmosphere, there’s a challenge waiting for you.
Choose your distance
21.1km Half Marathon: Take on a scenic run or walk from Sulphur Point, around the city and harbour edge, across the Harbour Bridge and through to the finish at Mount Main Beach.
8.5km City to Surf: Starting at Sulphur Point, this run or walk crosses the Harbour Bridge and travels through Coronation Park and along the Pilot Bay waterfront before finishing on the sand.
5km Surf to Surf: A great option for families, walkers and first-time participants. Starting at Mount Main Beach, the course takes in the beachfront and coastline before returning to the sandy finish line.
Bringing people back to the Mount and bringing the buzz back to Mount Main Beach!
Every distance finishes on the beach outside the Mount Maunganui Surf Lifesaving Club, so save a little something for those final few hundred metres!

Keep listening to Hayley and The Hits Bay of Plenty as we count down to event day. Across the campaign, we’ll have chances to win entries, plenty of motivation to get you moving and more ways to join the City to Surf excitement.
Then, on event day, look out for The Hits Street Team and our Sign Creation Station, where supporters can make personalised signs to cheer on their friends and whānau.
