The Hits Dunedin Teams Up with the Southern Hoiho

The Hits Breakfast with Callum and P is proud to partner with the Southern Hoiho, our region’s very own professional women’s basketball team competing in G.J. Gardner Homes Tauihi Basketball Aotearoa.

Representing the Lower South, the Hoiho embody the speed, strength and determination of the rare, yellow-eyed penguin – a true symbol of our region’s pride and resilience.

Coming off an impressive 2025 season, where the team finished third in the regular season and reached the semifinals, the Hoiho are back for 2026 with a talented lineup of returning stars and exciting new international signings.

Fans can catch all the action at the Edgar Centre in Dunedin, with the team also hitting the road to take on top competition from across Aotearoa.

Together, The Hits Dunedin and the Southern Hoiho are celebrating women’s sport, backing local talent and bringing unforgettable basketball moments to fans throughout the South.
