The Hits Best Song Ever: Our 2026 winner has been decided!

AC/DC's Thunderstruck crowned The Hits' Best Song Ever for 2026!

After four weeks, 127 epic battles and literally tens of thousands of votes, it has all come down to this.

New Zealand has spoken, and with 55% of the final vote, AC/DC's Thunderstruck has officially been crowned The Hits' Best Song Ever for 2026.

To earn the title, Thunderstruck had to take down seven incredible songs on its journey to the top:

• Oasis – Wonderwall
• Blue – All Rise
• Goo Goo Dolls – Iris
• Eminem – Without Me
• Guns N' Roses – November Rain
• P!nk – Just Like a Pill
• And finally… The Cranberries – Zombie

From 128 iconic songs to one unforgettable winner, this year's Best Song Ever competition saw listeners voting every weekday to decide which tracks would survive each knockout battle.
