Bring the whānau for a day of discovery, entertainment and community celebration at Te Whare Taonga o Te Arawa Rotorua Museum.
A much-loved Rotorua landmark is welcoming the community for a special look inside on Saturday 21 November.
The Rotorua Museum Community Open Day is a rare opportunity to explore the beautifully restored building, learn about the restoration and discover what’s being planned for its future exhibitions.
Whether you have fond memories of visiting or have always wondered what’s behind those doors, this is your chance to take a look and celebrate the next chapter.
There’ll be live music, free family-friendly activities and food trucks to enjoy throughout the day. Bring a picnic blanket, gather your whānau and friends, and make the most of the Government Gardens setting.
Inside, visitors can see artist impressions and concepts for future exhibitions and learn more about the Museum’s future.
The day is also a thank-you to the community for its ongoing support, bringing residents, Museum supporters, mana whenua, Te Arawa and visitors together to celebrate this special place.
