We raised $509,000 for our KidsCan handball-a-thon - watch the highlights!
The Hits teamed up with KidsCan once again to bring you KidsCanBall - and this year we raised a massive $509,000 and counting!
This year, we went even bigger… at the biggest venue we could find, EDEN PARK. Lots of you tuned in to watch live right here and on Facebook, texting KIDS to 933 to make instant $3 donations, or giving generously at kidscanball.org.nz.
Last year, our handball heroes Jono, Ben & Megan, and Jordan Watson (How to Dad) took to the court for a wild 24-hour handball-a-thon, raising over $474,000 to help Kiwi kids living in hardship.
This year, we returned with an even bigger goal - and thanks to your incredible support, we raised $509,000 to help KidsCan support thousands of children with food, warm jackets, and shoes so they can thrive at school.
We couldn't have done it without your help! Thanks to everyone who came down and hit the court with us including a range of special guests from ZM's Bree & Clint, Matilda & Art Green, Ruby Tui, Maia Wilson, Chris Mac, to Jazz Thornton, Chris Parker, Kaylee Bell, Hollie Smith, and more.
Check out a re-cap of the day below:
Hour one and feeling great:
So many legends coming down to support a great cause!
Can we kick Art Green off the King's square?
Matty & PJ coming in hot at the six hour mark
Shout out to all the schools that came down!
Ruby Tui left her mark on the fellas
Half-way through and really felt it
We have no idea what happened between the hours of 1am-5am
During the final hour, ASB dollar matched every donation between 7-8am
You can still donate here or text KIDS to 933 to make an instant $3 donation to help make a real difference for kids across Aotearoa. This is how every dollar counts:
- $25 provides a pair of sturdy shoes and socks
- $50 provides a fleece lined jacket and sturdy shoes and socks
- $100 provides food items for breakfast
