Here's Why You Should Never Throw Away Your Avocado Seeds

The latest super-food craze that's set the world wide web alight is something we didn't see coming: Avocado seeds.

Turns out that pip in the middle of your avocado does more than just prevent guacamole from going brown if you chuck it in the bowl, it can also give your body a health boost.

This new is according to Best Blender, who says the seeds help to "reduce inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. Also useful for diarrhoea, it can be used to make medicines for infections and stomach problems."

It also does much more, as it "prevents the growth of tumours thanks to it having a flayonol content." 

All of these benefits are due to 65% of the fruit's amino acids being contained in that big old round seed. As a result, it is also good for your skin and your overall immune system.

Avocado Seed Green Goddess Smoothie

  • 1 cup nut milk or water
  • 1 ripe pear
  • 2 handfuls of fresh spinach
  • ½ Hass avocado
  • ½ Hass avocado seed
  • Small piece ginger grated
  • ½ apple
