We LOVE avocados, but it's always SO hard to find a perfectly ripe one.

And that's where this hack comes in...

1. Wrap your rock-hard avocado super-tight in tin foil.

2. Place in the oven at 100degC for ten minutes.

3. After ten minutes, remove the avocado and check for ‘squishiness’.

4. If it doesn’t seem soft enough, pop it back in the oven and check on it every five or ten minutes until you’re satisfied
it’s achieved the right amount of softness. Depending on how unripe it was to begin with, this could take up to an hour.

5. Remove the tin foil and refrigerate the avocado until it cools.

6. Voila! Your avocado is ready to enjoy.

Explanation: Avocados naturally produce ethylene gas (the same as bananas) which causes the fruit to ripen. Typically, this gas is released slowly but when the avocado is wrapped in tin foil and baked, the gas surrounds it and speeds up the ripening process.
